Rajamäen Kellotehdas

High-end Finnish watchmaker joins SOMA

Rajamäen Kellotehdas will sell its limited-edition and one-of-a-kind watches on the SOMA marketplace

Style and craftsmanship

Rajamäen Kellotehdas brings a bold aesthetic to its elite timepieces. Each wristwatch is meticulously crafted by master watchmaker Simo Ylitalo. Pictured is his latest, the 18M, shown here in blue. The brand prides itself on its “three-dimensional dials which elevate your thoughts above and beyond a plain timepiece.” (from company website)

About Simo Ylitalo

A highly trained watchmaker, Simo Ylitalo founded Rajamäen Kellotehdas in 2007. He graduated from The Finnish School of Watchmaking (where he currently teaches) in 1991, and worked with “ultra-thin mechanical movements in the PIAGET workshop from 1992-95,” and “with complicated watches at RENAUD ET PAPI from 1995-98.” He went on to work with Kari Voutilainen, a renowned Finnish watchmaker operating in Switzerland.

A valuable addition

As we onboard the world’s largest collection of high-quality watches, SOMA wants to gather brands across a range of pricepoints, from around the globe. Rajamäen Kellotehdas is our second Finnish brand, and is among the higher-end of our partners to date. We’re glad to have them!

About SOMA

On legacy ecommerce platforms, anonymous usernames and depersonalized storefronts strip trade interactions of an important social element. Additionally, buyers lack a definitive way to ensure the authenticity of items. Enter SOMA. Our Heimdall Protocol stops forgeries and counterfeiting by validating ownership and provenance history on the blockchain. Social media elements bring personalization and interaction to trade, and allow users to monetize social influence, while a rewards system incentivizes beneficial collaboration. SOMA is a free-market ecosystem—free of market manipulation, price-fixing, gouging, and bloat.
